La Scopa Runs A Great 2nd From Horror Draw In The Listed Princess Stakes

Apr 14, 2018

La Scopa improved on her pedigree page when placing second in the Princess Stakes under Jimmy Byrne with the runner having to overcome horrendous straw in barrier 15 to finish behind Improvise over the mile.

Settling early in the go electric Princess Stakes, La Scopa traveled off the pace and was unable to tuck in from the draw, Byrne pushed wide and went out after the race leader, racing shoulder to shoulder with Improvise all the way home with a slender margin going the way of the Sydney trained galloper to score the stakes race in advance of La Scopa whom no doubt would have likely got the cash if not for the poor draw.
